Bringing Magic To Children In Hospital
Pyjama Fairies is the only UK charity to make pyjamas and surgical gowns specially designed for babies and children up to age 16 having surgery or any other associated medical test. Each garment is made in colourful, age-appropriate fabric and is designed to minimise discomfort when medical intervention is necessary.
Why our work matters
Pyjama Fairies was founded in May 2015 to bring comfort and support to young patients and their families whilst in hospital. We started with a simple goal: to create and distribute beautiful pyjamas and surgical gowns that give children an emotional boost and remind them that they are not defined by their illness.
The charity is run entirely by volunteers – (we like to call them Fairies because they create the magic!). Through their hard work and nimble fingers we have been able to donate over 4,000 garments free of charge each year directly to hospital wards throughout the UK. This ensures that children can get access to our pyjamas and gowns in emergency situations. Parents and carers can pre-order garments – the first set of pyjamas and gown is free with a £4.50 donation to cover postage and packaging.

Becoming a fairy is a commitment, you will need to provide your own fabrics and notions and sew to set deadlines. Although fabric is provided when funds allow.

All garments are lovingly sewn by our volunteer Fairies in 100% cotton and do not contain any glitter or metallic embellishments so are safe to wear during scans and x-rays. All garments are quality checked before being sent and designed in conjunction with healthcare professionals.
